Never climbed in socks before. My main goal was to cushion my toe knuckles that rub in ever shoe. MUCH more comfy now! These fit tight, but comfortably on my foot and once in the shoe, my feet go nowhere inside the shoe!
Gotta say I'm excited to wear them more and experience the comfort!
Absolutely love these climbing socks. You can immediately see and feel the quality and durability before even putting them on. The grip thread in the heel and toe make my shoes fit more snug and helps my foot not move around inside my shoe. I would have dead space under my heel with no socks or with other climbing or running socks in my climbing shoes. It is completely gone when I wear the Gamba climbing socks.
I've had ~3 sessions with the socks and I find they fix most of the reasons why I stopped wearing socks in the first place. The socks feel very light and they don't suffocate my feet in the warm weather. I'm not the biggest fan of ankle socks, but I was told that a larger sock is in the works so I'm optimistic and psyched. My biggest issue with the sock is that I don't have more of them, it takes a bit of time for them to get through the laundry cycle.
I haven't historically been a climbing sock wearer but I just might be a convert. These climbing are super thin, you forget you're even wearing socks! They stay completely locked in place—no bunching or slipping inside tight shoes. Hands down the best option if you want performance with socks!
Awesome sauce
these don't feel any different in my shoes than just some thin wool socks from smart wool i usually use. no harm no foul they don't cost more than a good pair of socks anyway so there is that. but as far as adding perfomace in climbing, I didn't notice anything
Started wearing them today, I got sweaty feet, didnt notice the usual sweat build up. Though did make the fit a tiny bit tighter, didnt not slip inside shoe though very good
I really enjoy these socks for climbing. They are very breathable and thin so they don’t mess with the feeling of my shoe.
Love these socks!! My wife started wearing socks a while ago to help with a toe problem she was trying to solve and it worked. She liked them so much that I also tried it and fell in love with wearing socks also.
The selection was poor in the US, so we were excited to hear about Gamba Socks. They have fully met our expectations. The quality is top notch and the fit is perfect. They feel great while climbing and believe that they actually help us during our climbs and allow us to have longer sessions.
I'm not sure how, but these socks have made my toe grip firmer and more confident, even though I expected they would just make it no worse than without them. They are comfortable, easy to get in and out of the shoe, and don't seem to pick up smells very fast.
One caveat is that they are foot-specific for the left and right foot, so if you, like me, have a bad habit of just keeping your clean socks in an assorted drawer expecting to find a matching pair because most of them are, it's unlikely going to work with these.
Recently started wearing socks to limit sweat, smell and overall improve comfort while climbing and gamba socks did not disappoint! Comparable to a couple japanese socks ive tried
Really happy with the quality of these socks. It's great having a sock that's so thin, yet grippy in the shoe. I'm finally understanding why a lot more people are climbing in socks - it kinda just makes sense.
I have always been a sock climber, but I have struggled with socks slipping in my shoes and preventing the ability to properly feel holds and the wall. These socks don’t slip in the shoes and allow me to feel my feet placement so much better. It has definitely helped with my technique and placement!
I've been wearing socks in my climbing shoes ever since I started, but these climbing socks are on another level. They don't slide around in the shoes and provide a lot more dryness and comfort that you wouldn't otherwise have in regular socks. Highly recommend!
Seems to be the year of the climbing sock here in the US. Two different climbing sock companies have launched here in the US. I bought both to try out. As much as I enjoy merlino wool socks, those are the only type of socks I wear, I would have to give it to Gamba and to the larger japanese climbing sock industry. The sticky thread used was amazing and worked better than I imagined. I'm now looking forward to buying more from Gamba. Waiting for colored offerings. Really good job Gamba team! Looking forward to more from y'all!
When I first learned about Japanese climbing socks, I was bummed that they weren't available in the US. Soon after I found Gamba and preordered a pair as soon as I could. I've worn them several times now in different shoes, some tight and some more loose fitting, and the socks are fantastic. They help with sweaty feet, they help with comfort in new shoes and they are much more comfortable and grippy than wearing a traditional cotton sock. Thanks Gamba!
I really love these socks, they feel great in my climbing shoes. I will definitely want to grab a few more pairs in the near future.
Bery thin and comfortable and feel great with my climbbng shoes. I go barefoot with my indoor shoes but I bought my outdoor climbing ahoes a hair too big and these are just right for filling them in.
Very comfortable, unobtrusive, can feel the extra grip from the toe and heel, breathable, makes putting on/taking sweaty shoes off of sweaty feet.
Super comfortable- love the fit and style!
Feel great and stick well to my shoes
I love these. They don't add any unnecessary bulk inside my climbing shoes, and my toes don't feel like they are slipping around. The seams are very thin, so they don't rub or bother me when wearing them. I've been climbing for about 25 years and have never worn socks with my shoes before, but that was starting to feel gross so I gave these a try. I'm a convert - I'll definitely be buying more pairs.
Kind of similar to right fitting regular socks. Not really too different
To me they are a combination of the Rock Master and North Face socks. Took the best features of both to make the perfect climbing sock!
Great climbing socks, i have been using uniqlo no show socks for the longest time. The lock weave and thinner fabric really make a difference in sensitivity and keep my foot locked in my shoe.
These are pretty great. I’ve been climbing for 25 years and have never worn socks. I was suspect but wanted to give them a try to hopefully extend the average life of my shoes. See, I have to replace my shoes much sooner than usual due to the horrendous smell they end up accumulating. These seem to protect them well from my disgusting feet and I don’t notice any perceivable downside in sensitivity or precision.
They are amazing, my dragos which i had to down size a lot to try to eliminate that slippery feel, had no more problems or issues at all and it felt more secure than ever
Love em down

FAQ
What are the micro grip threads?
LockWeave™ grip fabric comes from splitting the thread to 1/20th the size of a normal thread. It increases the surface area, and gives the fabric grip. There are no grip additives on the sock.
Does the grip fade over time?
No! The grip does not fade. In fact, we find it gets even more grippy with age!
How long do the socks last?
Our socks should last years. The material and sewing process makes them very durable. We recommend keeping toenails short due to the tight nature of climbing shoes. If your socks don't last as long as you expected, reach out to us at hello@gambasocks.com.
How do they fit? Should I downsize?
Gamba Socks fit true to size. Refer to our size guide to find the right size for you.
Are there any downsides to climbing in socks?
No! Most climbers find that climbing in socks doesn't impact performance at all. But it has tons of upsides. Better grip, less smelly shoes, increased comfort, dry feet. OK maybe there is one downside...you will have slightly more laundry to do. But thats it!
