Gamba Climbing Sock with LockWeave™ Grip Fabric

I tested the socks across several sessions, including extended periods over full days, and I must say they shifted things in a positive direction.
First, my shoes still fit perfectly. The gripping fibres are not merely marketing; they function well, giving the impression that the sock will adhere to the shoe.
More importantly, with sweaty feet you avoid the sensation of “swimming” in your shoes or losing confidence in your feet. Even after four or five hours of bouldering and sweating, every step felt secure, and there was no need to change shoes just because they were wet.
I will certainly buy more, as I will never run a session without them again.

I've always climbed wearing socks for various reasons: sweating management, sensitive skin, comfort and so on. Initially, I used regular cotton socks, but then I gradually started nerding out about socks. When I discovered Gamba Socks, I immediately wanted to try them. After trying them on, even doing A-B comparisons with other technical socks, I can say that they are exceptional socks in every way. The grip in the shoe is fantastic, the fit is perfect and the comfort is too. The sweat management is excellent despite the fact that they don't contain cotton. Wearing these socks, I've easily climbed 7A (V7) grade boulder problems with heel hooks and toe hooks. Furthermore, climbing slabs of the same grade, I felt like my foot was perfectly stable, much better than with other socks I've tried.

​These socks are really very comfortable. I tried them with my usual climbing shoes and immediately noticed the difference compared to my previous pair from another brand. I no longer felt any gaps or weird foot movement inside the shoe. Their best feature is definitely the anti-slip material on the toe and heel—it's great because you can clearly feel it to the touch, even though it's barely visible to the eye. We'll see how they hold up over time against wear and tear, but I'm very confident. Really a great product!

Never climbed in socks before. My main goal was to cushion my toe knuckles that rub in ever shoe. MUCH more comfy now! These fit tight, but comfortably on my foot and once in the shoe, my feet go nowhere inside the shoe!

Absolutely love these climbing socks. You can immediately see and feel the quality and durability before even putting them on. The grip thread in the heel and toe make my shoes fit more snug and helps my foot not move around inside my shoe. I would have dead space under my heel with no socks or with other climbing or running socks in my climbing shoes. It is completely gone when I wear the Gamba climbing socks.

I've had ~3 sessions with the socks and I find they fix most of the reasons why I stopped wearing socks in the first place. The socks feel very light and they don't suffocate my feet in the warm weather. I'm not the biggest fan of ankle socks, but I was told that a larger sock is in the works so I'm optimistic and psyched. My biggest issue with the sock is that I don't have more of them, it takes a bit of time for them to get through the laundry cycle.

I haven't historically been a climbing sock wearer but I just might be a convert. These climbing are super thin, you forget you're even wearing socks! They stay completely locked in place—no bunching or slipping inside tight shoes. Hands down the best option if you want performance with socks!

The socks are very comfortable and thin! My toes used to shift around in ultralight running socks but stay planted in these socks.

Before I started using these socks I would often find myself having to end my session occasionally because my feet would sweat and slide around in my shoe making it hard to do precise footwork or heel hooks so I tired out a pair of socks and they weren’t as great as I hoped they would be so I continued to have the problem until I stumbled upon gamba socks. With their promise of being made and inspected in Japan I couldn’t help but try them out especially because you can’t find anything like that in the states. Their socks completely eliminated the problem and they didn’t take away any sensitivity at all, the socks are ultra thin but somehow grip the inside of your shoe perfectly. I won’t use any sock other than Gamba’s. Excited to see what the future holds for this brand.

I love the socks so much, it feels almost like your barefoot, but much more comfortable! The socks dont slide at all in my shoes!

I love these! My climbing shoes are much easier to put on and they are more comfortable while I’m climbing. The socks have good grip so I’m climbing at least as well with the socks as I did without them. I have 4 pair so I can get through a week of climbing before having to do laundry. My only recommendation is to be careful of the sizing. My recommended size was medium but I bought small and they’re plenty roomy. The mediums would have been too big for me.

Really great. I’ve been climbing for 20 months and gotten several V10s on Kilter. I always thought socks were for gumbies, but these socks are awesome. They make it easier to put on tight shoes, and they keep shoes from getting slimy inside. They also keep the shoes from smelling so bad. They also help the shoe to fit slightly more snugly, so for me the heel is more secure and my foot doesn’t move around at all in my shoe.

Used to think climbing without out socks was better, but after these my opinion has changed a lot. I sweat a lot and my old shoes smelled awful, but with these socks my new shoes smell fine after many climbing sessions! Additionally, the socks have seemed to give even more grip when wearing the shoe, while making it easier to put the shoe on. I will be buying more soon!

I prefer to climb in socks as it makes my shoes fit more comfortably and wicks sweat from my feet. Since these socks are made for climbing, they work great with climbing shoes! They are thin and feel seamless and very comfortable.

Also, I was put in contact with James after ordering the wrong size, and he was incredibly helpful and quick to respond to my questions. Great customer service!

Really great socks - wearing socks is helping my shoes not smell ungodly awful - and these are thin enough that they don’t add mass - but grippy particularly on the toe/ heel so you barely notice - zero slippage

The sock is great fitting and makes getting your shoes on so much easier. Easy to wash, dry quickly and are actually very comfortable. 100% will be buying again!

They are grippy socks that are very thin and assist with moisture absorption extending the life of the climb shoe. Highly recommend.

these don't feel any different in my shoes than just some thin wool socks from smart wool i usually use. no harm no foul they don't cost more than a good pair of socks anyway so there is that. but as far as adding perfomace in climbing, I didn't notice anything
